大家好嗎! Hello Everyone!
A HUGE thank you to our Flea Market Volunteers! Especially Laura and John, who commanded the booth setup and organization. They must have been "Yard Sale" professionals in a previous life! Our Flea Market Mamas showed up to school us in street market sales as well. "Mai 1 Song 1!" (Buy one, Get one). We raised over NT$21000 from the event!

We will be having a silent auction at the event, and you may read in our Charity News below about our donation process. Please contact Morelia if you can help find donors for our Spring Fling Silent Auction!
Have you begun to consider a position on our Board of Directors or Supervisors for 2017-2018? Do you have ideas to keep us fresh, current, and continually improving? Help guide and direct our organization. All volunteer positions include training and support. Email iwatpresident@gmail.com to find out more details.
We also need a nominations committee for our September Luncheon to coordinate our election.

Indian Cooking Class
Coming up! IWAT is going to host new cooking lessons. Learning to make authentic Indian cuisine. 接下來要開的臺中國際婦女會的廚藝課是學做超簡單好吃的傳統印度咖哩喔～ Tuesday 4/18, only 8 seats available.
四月18日 (二) 上課，只有8個座位喔～ Fee: NT $1500 費用 NT: $1500 (A deposit of $500 has to be paid when signing up. If the class is cancelled, the deposit will be fully refunded. 報名時收取訂金 $500, 若課程因故取消將全額退還。)

Our last fundraising event for the season is upon us!
Spring Fling
We need you for the Spring Fling Charity Event on May 6th!
We need your help! We are working on recruiting a few companies and/or individuals to donate items for our “Silent Auction” during our Spring Fling Charity event. The items donated and money raised will go to local charities. If you or your spouse works for a company who might like to contribute a product, gift certificate, or money — please contact Morelia Humphreys directly through LINE. Individual people are welcome to donate items as well. In return, the companies or individuals will be announced as a sponsor and receive a tax deductible receipt for their donation. Thanks for your help! (IDEAS or past gifts have included: vouchers for restaurants, hotel vouchers, spa gift-certificates, electronics, wines, food items, fashion items, etc.) ***Please note that all donated items should be brand new, never used before and current (cutting edge). If you have any doubts, just let me know and I will help you decide.

2017 May: Snow Flower and the Secret Fan

In nineteenth-century China, in a remote Hunan county, a girl named Lily, at the tender age of seven, is paired with a laotong, “old same,” in an emotional match that will last a lifetime. The laotong, Snow Flower, introduces herself by sending Lily a silk fan on which she’s painted a poem in nu shu, a unique language that Chinese women created in order to communicate in secret, away from the influence of men.
Yoga
Did you know that Tuesdays and Thursdays are IWAT yoga days? Lisa teaches us new poses on a donation basis, and then she gives half to IWAT for charity! Let us know if you want to join!
